Petineuse databile all’incirca agli anni ’20-’30 del ‘900, regalato ad Atelier Woo da un'amica di nome Giulia ed appartenuta alla sua bisnonna paterna.
"Il mobile era in evidente stato di incuria e abbandono, le superfici andavano ripristinate e alcune parti aggiustate.
Le vecchie vernici sono state rimosse con la tecnica dello “scraping” senza utilizzare sverniciatori a solvente.
Le parti rotte sono state aggiustate e rinforzate con perni in legno duro nascosti all’interno.
Anche i cassetti sono stati rilavorati con pialletto e scraper.
Ogni componente è stata trattata con prodotto antitarlo e i fori sono stati tutti chiusi con stucco, tranne uno, seminascosto a testimonianza del passato di questo mobile.
Le parti in metallo sono state pulite con una soluzione di acido citrico (molto più biocompatibile dell’aceto) e lucidate a mano con una spazzola in nylon e molto olio di gomito.
Il marmo è stato lucidato a mano con polvere di carbonato di calcio per ripristinare la lucentezza e rimuovere graffi e sporcizia accumulata nei decenni.
Ai lati dello specchio abbiamo voluto lasciare i pannelli intarsiati originali per ricordare la storia di questo mobile.
I cassetti sono stati rifiniti con pialletto e scraper, l’esterno è stato lucidato con cera d’api per agevolare lo scorrimento degli stessi all’interno della struttura, l’interno è stato foderato con un tessuto nuovo proveniente da ritagli di altre lavorazioni."

Petineuse datable to around the 1920s-30s, given to Atelier Woo by a friend named Giulia and belonged to her paternal great-grandmother. "The piece of furniture was in an evident state of neglect and abandonment, the surfaces needed to be restored and some parts fixed. The old varnishes were removed with the "scraping" technique without using solvent-based paint removers. The broken parts were fixed and strengthened with hardwood pins hidden inside. The drawers have also been reworked with a planer and scraper. Each component has been treated with an anti-woodworm product and the holes have all been closed with putty, except one, half-hidden as evidence of the past of this piece of furniture. The metal parts were cleaned with a citric acid solution (much more biocompatible than vinegar) and hand polished with a nylon brush and lots of elbow grease. The marble was hand polished with calcium carbonate powder to restore the shine and remove scratches and dirt accumulated over the decades. On the sides of the mirror we wanted to leave the original inlaid panels to recall the history of this piece of furniture. The drawers were finished with a planer and scraper, the outside was polished with beeswax to facilitate their sliding inside the structure, the inside was lined with a new fabric from scraps from other processes. "
