TESSITURA SU PIETRA
Creare opere in Neroassoluto è come vestire la mia arte col suo abito migliore. La pietra è come un tessuto e io sono il suo sarto.
Questo materiale, da cui questo catalogo prende il nome, è un granito. Lo caratterizza l’assenza di venature e il nero profondo che manifesta una volta lucidato. Guardare una lastra di Neroassoluto è come essere di fronte a un universo che ancora aspetta il Big Bang. É come se da quell’oscurità scaturisse un suono primordiale, il mio compito è incidere, creare delle pause a quel vuoto per far si che diventi musica. Sono un compositore che cerca l’armonia di note antiche, uno scriba di storie lontane; sono il tessitore di pietre.
Su questo cielo buio tiro linee come fossero fili di lana o cotone, tesso forme che raccolgo dal tempo.
L’arte è un complesso sistema di comunicazione che esula dalle cose fisiche. Quello che faccio è incidere il granito lucido con una tecnica che chiamo tessitura su pietra, ma l’arte va oltre l’atto pratico di tessere o di incidere e io sono un tessitore senza telaio. Intendo la tessitura come un linguaggio che non ha bisogno di traduzioni, un lessico visivo che al contempo differenzia e unisce le varie culture che esistono e sono esistite. Intuisco un modo di esprimersi astratto fatto di forme che danno vita a un codice in continua evoluzione, che esiste oltre ai materiali e ai metodi di realizzazione, che esiste oltre il tempo.

Stone weaving
Creating works in Neroassoluto (Absolute black) is like dressing my art with its best dress. The stone is like a fabric and I am its tailor.
This material, from which this catalog takes its name, is granite. It is characterized by the absence of veins and by the deep black that manifests itself when polished. Looking at a slab of Neroassoluto is like being in front of a universe that is still waiting for the Big Bang. It is as if a primordial sound arose from that darkness, my task is to record, to create pauses in that void to make it become music. I am a composer who seeks the harmony of ancient notes, a scribe of distant stories; I am the stone weaver.
On this dark sky I draw lines as if they were threads of wool or cotton, I weave shapes that I collect from time.
Art is a complex communication system that goes beyond physical things. What I do is engrave polished granite with a technique I call stone weaving, but the art goes beyond the practical act of weaving or engraving and I am a frameless weaver. I intend weaving as a language that does not need translation, a visual lexicon that at the same time differentiates and unites the various cultures that exist and have existed. I perceive an abstract way of expressing oneself made up of forms that give life to a constantly evolving code, which exists
beyond to the materials and methods of realization, which exists beyond time.
